Russell E. Thornton, 82, of Dunnsville departed this life on August 30.
He is survived by his wife, Hattie B. Thornton of Dunnsville, two daughters: Juanita Thornton and Russhell Thornton both of Tappahannock; two sons: Joe Lewis Jones of Williamsburg and Charles Jones of Center Cross; two sisters: Ella Mae Gilmore and Eleanor Oakley both of Dunnsville and three brothers: Solomon Oakley Jr. of Dunnsville, James Oakley of Colonial Heights and Alvin Oakley of Augusta, GA.
The viewing will be on Thursday, Sept. 8 from 3-5 p.m. at Washington Funeral Home, Tappahannock. The funeral service will be on Sept. 9 at 12 noon at Good Hope Baptist Church, 342 Johnville Rd., Dunnsville. Rev. I.V. Smith, Pastor. Online condolences can be made to washingtonfh.com.
