Obituary
Morishia VerShonda Robinson, beloved daughter, mother, sister, aunt and friend, entered eternal rest on Saturday, May 3, 2025, at the age of 41. She was born on February 7, 1984, to Shirley Hill and Preston Robinson in Richmond, Virginia. Morishia was educated in the King and Queen County Public School System and proudly graduated from King and Queen Central High School in June 2002.

Morishia accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age and joined Union Hope Baptist Church in King and Queen,Va. She was a founding member of the Children of Christ ministry and also sang on the Austin-Angelic Specials youth choir. Her faith was strong, and her love for God and others was evident in the way she lived her life.

She worked various jobs throughout Essex County, including Roma’s, which allowed her to meet and positively impact many people in the community. Currently, she was working as a personal care aid for her cousin, Antonio Hundley, in which she took much pride.

Morishia had a radiant smile and a vibrant personality. She was kind-hearted, full of joy, and truly the life of every gathering. Her presence lit up every room, and she made lasting impressions on everyone she encountered.

Morishia was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Robert and Velma Hill, her paternal grandfather, Dorsey P. Robinson and her maternal aunt, Edith C. Hundley.

She absolutely adored and deeply loved her daughter, Amorjona, who was the light of her life. She affectionately referred to her as “My Duty,” a reflection of the deep bond and sense of purpose she felt in motherhood.

She leaves to cherish her loving memory: her mother, Shirley Hill of Ino, VA; her father, Preston Robinson of Middlesex, VA; her daughter, Amorjona Robinson of Essex, VA; her sisters, Ebony K. Whitting of Middlesex, VA and Prestina Robinson of Middlesex, VA; grandmother; Annabell Robinson of Urbanna, VA, and her son in love Jay’vel Richardson of Essex, VA; amazing aunts and uncles that were like bonus parents Martha Kemp (William) of Middlesex, Va, and Billy Hundley (Edith); first cousins who were more like siblings Catrona Hill of Varina, Va, Elrica Holmes (Jamie) of Laneview, Va, DaShana Kemp Garnett (Earl) of Williamsburg, Va and Antonio Hundley of Center Cross, Va and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

Though we grieve, we also celebrate the beautiful life she lived. Her laughter, her love, and her light will forever remain in our hearts.
