Mary Odessa Washington, 79, of Caret departed this life on June 20.

She is survived by her husband, Herbert Washington, Sr., two daughters: Valerie Bundy of Warsaw and Coretta Washington of Caret, one son, Herbert Washington, Jr. (Crystal) of Caret, six grandchildren: Philip Bundy (Dana) of Tappahannock, Harmony Matthews (Courtney) of Spotsylvania, Darshell Rittenhouse (Christopher) of Warsaw, Shonelle Smith of Tappahannock, Cameron Washington of Caret, Damarius Kelly of Tappahannock and Haivynn Washington of Tappahannock; seven great-grandchildren: Kristin Rittenhouse, Allayah Bundy, Layla Bundy, Zylan Rittenhouse, Vallyn Rittenhouse, Chace Bundy, and J’Adore Matthews; a sister, Cynthia Johnson (William) of King William, two brothers: Floyd Johnson (Patricia) of Tappahannock and Thomas Johnson (Sylvia) of Caret.

The viewing will be held on Friday, July 5 from 3-6 p.m.at Washington Funeral Home, 1404 Tappahannock Blvd., Tappahannock. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 6 at 11 a.m. at St. John Baptist Church, 155 St. John Church Rd., Tappahannock. Rev. Jonathan Mercer, Pastor. The interment will be in the church cemetery.
