John Robert Tompkins

John Robert Tompkins, 79, of Tappahannock departed this life on Feb. 25 in a Richmond hospital.

He is survived by his wife, Clara Tompkins and two sons: Robert Tompkins and Kenny Tompkins all of Tappahannock and a sister, Mary Diane Jones of Richmond.

The viewing will be held on Saturday, March 8 from 3-5 p.m. at Washington Funeral Home, 1404 Tappahannock Blvd., Tappahannock. The funeral service will be held on Sunday, March 9 at 2 p.m. at Union Hope Baptist Church, 4573 Rock Spring Rd., Center Cross. The interment will be in the church cemetery.
