Franklin Junius Tompkins, Jr., 80, of Richmond departed this life on Jan. 3 at his residence.
He is survived by three daughters: Beverly Tompkins, Tina Tompkins and Merilyn Patterson (David) and a son, Glenwood Tompkins (Sharon) all of Richmond, eight sisters: Marion Tompkins (Sherman) of Fredericksburg, Wanda Tompkins of Maryland, Yvonne Shelton (William) of Richmond, Deloise Gardner (Tom) of St. Stephens Church, Verna Martin of Hanover, Linda Howard (Nathaniel) of Maryland, Cindy Ingram (John) of Maryland and DeAnna Williams (Charles) of Maryland and two brothers: Clyde Tompkins (Inez) of St. Stephens Church and Wayne Sheppard (Francis) of Bowling Green.
The viewing will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 10 from 3-6 p.m. at Washington Funeral Home, 1404 Tappahannock Blvd., Tappahannock. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, Jan. 11 at 12 noon at First Mt. Olive Baptist Church, 7820 Newtown Rd., Newtown. The interment will be in the church cemetery.
