Elsie Garnett Washington

Elsie Garnett Washington, 67, of Tappahannock departed this life on April 14 after a lengthy illness.

She is survived by her devoted husband of 43 years, Anthony Washington, Sr., three children: Marquitta Spencer (Jermonza), Karlia Washington (Joseph) and Anthony Washington Jr. (Erica);  thirteen grandchildren: Iyanna, Alayasia, Cynia, Zaine, Layla, Alexus, Winter, Autumn, Lauren, Autumn, Terrance , Brayden, Nasir and Keshaun; a great-grandson, Elias and her siblings: Randolph Garnett (Nora), Lillian Pollard (Joseph),  Earl Garnett Sr. (Delphine), Kenneth Garnett Sr. (Denise) Josephine Pierce (Charles, Sr.) Lesley Garnett, Sr. ( Pat), William “Darnell” Garnett (Angie) and Delores Braxton (Michael).

The viewing will be held on Wednesday, April 23 from 3-5 p.m. at Washington Funeral Home, 1404 Tappahannock Blvd., Tappahannock. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 24 at 12 noon at St. John Baptist Church, 155 St. John Church Rd., Tappahannock. The interment will be in the church cemetery.
