Deacon George Edward Scott

Deacon George Edward Scott, 77, of Tappahannock departed this life on August 2 at his residence.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Delphine Scott, his children: Pamela D. Scott of Tappahannock, William E. Scott of Stafford, Donald Payton (Felicia) of Caret, Maxine Thornton (Jermaine) of Manquin and Karen Stephenson of Warsaw; his siblings: Kim Nelson (Kenneth) of Tappahannock and Winston Scott (Patricia) of Philadelphia, PA; his grandchildren: Jessica Willis of Tappahannock, Shavon Scott (Sarah) of Fredericksburg, Jordan Scott (Daija) of Fredericksburg, Jacob Payton of Caret, Saniyah Payton of King George, Tijay Holmes of Warsaw and Giovanni Rich of Spotsylvania, four great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

The viewing will be held on Saturday, August 9 from 3-6 p.m. at Washington Funeral Home, Tappahannock. The funeral service will be held on Sunday, August 10 at 2 p.m. at St. John Baptist Church, Tappahannock. The interment will be in the First Union Baptist Church cemetery.
