Charles Austin Payne

Charles Austin Payne, 74, of Tappahannock departed this life on July 4 in Dockside Health and Rehabilitation in Locust Hill.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara Payne, a daughter, Nicole Alford (Edwin), a son, Charles M. Payne (Marlise) and a sister, Louise Battle (Sylvester).

The viewing will be on Friday, July 8 from 3-5 p.m. at Washington Funeral Home, Tappahannock. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 9 at 11 a.m. in the Essex High School auditorium, Tappahannock. The interment will be in the New Mt. Zion Baptist Church cemetery, Caret. Rev. Lester Harvey, Pastor.
