Barbara Ann Banks-Nouwezem

Barbara Ann Banks Nouwezem, 77, of Mechanicsville passed away suddenly at Memorial Regional Medical Center on February 17.

She was the 11th of 12 children born to the late Junius and Callie Banks. Barbara was born on January 18, 1946 in Richmond.  Her son Christopher Banks, siblings: Mary Williams, Catherine Trent, Everdeen Banks, Will Banks, Naomi Taylor and Mildred Banks-Brown preceded her in death.

She is survived by her husband of 6 years, George Nouwezem, her children: Bryan Nouwezem, Patrick Nouwezem and Angel Nouwezem all of Richmond; siblings: Gracie Greene of Wilmington, DE, Mamie Mimms (Isadore), Thelma Hoskins and Callie Deane all of Richmond and Calvin Banks (Eve) of Sacramento, CA; two sisters-in-law: Janet Nouwezem and Helen Banks and a brother-in-law, Patrick Nouwezem.

The viewing will be held on Saturday, February 25 from 10 – 11 a.m. at Bethlehem Baptist Church, 4389 The Trail, Bruington, where the funeral service will immediately follow at 11 a.m. Rev. James T. Hill Sr., Pastor. The interment will be in the church cemetery.
