Mildred Ester Banks-Brown quietly slipped into the arms of Christ on December 16, 2018 at The Orchard in Warsaw, Virginia.
Midge adored her grandchildren with all of her heart. Tammy known as her “Cute Cake” and P.O. better known as “P” were the apple of her eye. She enjoyed long summer visits with them and once she moved to Springfield, Virginia she enjoyed being a part of their daily lives for many years. She loved to boast and dote on her adoring grands including her beautiful great granddaughter Ciera.
She is survived by her loving grandchildren Tamala Thompson-Griffin (Micah) of Woodbridge, Virginia and Prentiss O. Thompson II (Angel) of Glen Allen, Virginia and great-granddaughter Ciera Marie Thompson of Woodside, New York. Midge also leaves 5 sisters to cherish her memory Grace Greene (Raymond) of Woodbury Heights, New Jersey, Mamie Mims (Isadore), Thelma Hoskins (Colonius), Callie Deane (Roland), Barbara Nouwezem (George) all of Richmond, Virginia and one loving brother Calvin Banks (Eve) of Sacramento, California. She is also survived by her daughter-in-law; Regina Thompson, two sisters-in-law: Evelyn and Helen Banks and 3 brothers-in-law: Isadore Mims, Raymond Greene and George Nouwezem. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends are also left to cherish her sweet memory.
The funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 22 at 12 noon at Bethlehem Baptist Church, Bruington. Rev. James T. Hill, Pastor. There will be a viewing one hour prior to the funeral service.
