Mary Elizabeth Smith Burnett was born on December 29, 1927 in King and Queen County, Virginia to Henry Logan and Mary Lee Smith. She departed this earthly life on August 7, 2008.

Elizabeth, as she was affectionately called by many, was a native of King and Queen for many years. She was the fifth child of the late Henry Logan and Mary Lee Smith of Virginia. She received her education from the Public School System in King and Queen County.

Elizabeth was very opinionated. She was a great story teller and loved to tell jokes. Elizabeth loved to travel and visit her children and siblings. She loved her family and friends deeply. She also loved playing cards especially Bid Wisk and Gin Rummy.
