Beatrice Pollard Sykes

Beatrice Pollard Sykes departed this life on May 24, 2019 in Baltimore, Maryland.   She was born November 25, 1925 to the late James M. Pollard and Reesy Brown Pollard in Owenton, VA. 

Preceding her in death was her husband, John L. Sykes; son, Stanley Garlick; siblings, Lillie Mitchell, Alonzo Pollard, William Pollard and Irene Russell; Grandchildren, James Vaughan, Jr. and Shawyn Jenkins; Great Grandson, Maurice Taylor Bey.

She leaves to cherish her memories her five children: Delaine (Connie) Vaughan, Cleveland Taylor Bey (Blanche), Prentiss Johnson (Aretha), Robert Q. Johnson (Diane) and Sheila Williams (Dwight); 14 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren; 4 sisters-in-law: Elizabeth Pollard, Odessa Sykes Patillo, Juran Sykes Squire and Cecelia Sykes; brother-in-law James Walter Sykes; special friends James and Denyce Hill; a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives as well as many friends of the Kingdom Hall of the Jehovah Witnesses.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday June 22nd at 1 p.m. at Washington Funeral Home Chapel, Tappahannock., Virginia
